Send your first email
Compose a one-off email or schedule a full campaign — both flows in detail.
A. Quick transactional send
Open Dashboard → Send email. Fill in:
- From — pick one of your verified SMTP accounts
- To — one or more recipients (comma-separated)
- Subject — short, scannable
- Body — switch between HTML and plain text. Both versions are sent (multipart/alternative) for the best inbox placement.
Click Send. The message is queued, then handed to the SMTP account. Watch Email logs for the SMTP response, attempts and final status.
B. Bulk campaign
- Open Campaigns → New campaign.
- Pick a template (or write inline). Use merge tags like
{{first_name}},{{email}}or any custom contact field. - Pick a contact list or paste recipient emails.
- Pick the SMTP account to send from. You can rotate across multiple SMTPs to spread volume.
- Set the send rate (messages per minute) — start low (10–30/min) when warming a new sender.
- Click Send now or Schedule.
Always test first
Use the Send test button to deliver a personalized preview to one inbox before you launch to the full list. Open it on desktop and mobile, run it through mail-tester.com, and check links.
Throttling, retries and suppression
- Sends respect the per-minute rate you set, plus your SMTP provider's hourly/daily limits.
- Temporary failures (4xx) retry with exponential backoff up to 5 attempts.
- Hard bounces (5xx) and unsubscribes are added to the suppression list; future sends skip them automatically.
Unsubscribe links
Every campaign body should include {{unsubscribe_url}}. We also set the List-Unsubscribe and List-Unsubscribe-Post headers so Gmail and Outlook can offer one-click unsubscribe — a Gmail bulk-sender requirement since 2024.
What to watch after a send
- Email logs — per-recipient status, SMTP response, attempts.
- Campaign detail — accepted / bounced / unsubscribed counters and a delivery timeline.
- Analytics — opens, clicks and trends (requires tracking enabled on the campaign).
